Pastoral Care

This will be a very short post on a subject I’ll come back to at another time.

Tonight we had guest speaker who is a Baptist minister who specializes in pastoral care. He works primarily with patients who have mental illnesses.

His talked touched on three different ways of thinking and problem solving. Briefly the are; either/or, neither/nor, and both ends. At some point in the future I’ll come back to this.

One final thing he talked about was “the future story” and what the consequences of events in life can have on our future story and how an altered future can affect how we live our lives on a daily basis.

Very interesting, but much too much to go into while writing on an iPone late at night. It will have to wait for a full size keyboard and time for the thoughts to age a little in my brain.

Now it is time for bed. I will have to do the mokushou for service. I hope I don’t screw it up.

Rest well everyone!
