Walk for Homeless
On Saturday, November 22, 2008, Myosho-ji temple members joined with about 700 others from the community to walk for the homeless. The three mile walk was the fourth annual walk held to increas community awareness of the conditions that homeless people live in. Also the event was a fund raiser for community services to provide support for those who are homeless. Currently in Mecklenburg county it is estimated that there are 5000 homeless individuals at…
Cooking & raising a dog
From iPhone Raising a little puppy is a real challenge. This isn’t the first one I have raised but it has been a long time. In between monitoring Otera, keeping up with poop and pee, I have been doing some baking. Saturday I cooked up one of the pumpkins that was donated to the temple. Then I baked up some pumpkin bread. New Dog
From iPhone: Picked up doggy from Humane Society yesterday. Decided to name it Otera Inu which is Japanese for Temple Dog. I have now in the course of my life adopted 2 dogs from the Hawaii Humane Society and 2 from Charllotte. Having a mug of hot chocolate before bed.
