Well I’ve been home for 24 hours. It’s not the longest I’ve been home sin e this health crisis began. What is different this time is that every day for two weeks I will be receiving daily IV antibiotic infusions give by a home RN from the VA.
Today I was able to order groceries online for home delivery. It is an expensive option yet one that made it possible to restock my pantry so I ha e good food to eat. And I was able to do so without going out in the cold rain and snow. If I’d gone to the grocery myself I would have exhausted myself and caused a flair up in my pain. This way I could conserve my energy, not be in pain and have energy and feel strong enough to out the groceries away.
I am hopeful this time with the antibiotics I can stay out of the hospital. My last admission was because my white blood cell count was elevated and I had high fever, two signs that my body was still trying to fight the pneumonia. Much of the pain in. My lung was from infection and the other pain was healing from lung surgery.
Today rather than taking pain meds all day I was able to take one later I the evening to help with the accumulated pain from being active today.
I know you may be tired of reading about these health updates, especially when after a few days I’m right back in the hospital.
I promise you I am ding everything the doctors want me to do. I get some exercise while being careful to not overdo things. I continue to try to follow that advice.
Eating has been challenging due to needing to cook and clean up for myself. The online shopping really helps and I have a few other things to assist me with that.
I remain optimistic and I hope you do not become discouraged.
Let us together remain hopeful as we begin our new year of 2020.
Tomorrow, January 5, 2020 I plan on conducting our first service of the new year and I hope folks will be able to join in as their schedules will permit.
Thank you for your continued support
