Kids in Cages

First Lady of the US wears a jacket with the words “I really don’t care. Do You?” on a visit to the children in cages.

These are some of the art I have created in response to the recent decision of the Trump administration policy of separating children from their parents as they have attempted to cross the border.  In some cases, the number is quite unknown, these immigrants are seeking asylum. Because the legal entry points have been shut down in many places they have, in desperation sought entry elsewhere along the boarder.  As they have tried to enter they are immediately arrested.  Children are then taken from their parents and put into what amounts to a prison camp or an internment camp.  The president has tried to portray this as a result of Democrat policy.  The truth of the matter is that until April of this year, this has not been done.  The Trump administration and the Republican party have been completely in charge of the government and have rebuffed any Democratic attempt to enact any immigration policy.  Hence it is a lie that this is these separations are a result of the Democrats.  This cruelty is an attempt by Trump to hold these children hostage for a border wall.  A wall that the majority of citizens of the USA are not in favor of.
